The main event for numerous motor-car fans and automotive segment professionals – the Moscow Automobile International Salon/MIAS 2010 takes place August 27 through September 5, 2010 in the Crocus Expo International Exhibition Centre.
The organizers of MIAS 2010 are the Association of Russian Carmakers NP and the Crocus Expo International Exhibition Centre. The event is supported by the Automobile Manufacturers Committee (AMC) of the Association of European Businesses (AEB) in the Russian Federation, the Ministry for Economic Development of the Russian Federation, the Ministry for Transport of the Russian Federation and the Ministry for Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation.
The international status of the Moscow Autosalon has been acknowledged by the Organisation Internationale des Constructeurs d’Automobiles / OICA as an “A” category motor show alongside with Geneva, Paris, London, Detroit and Frankfurt motor shows.
The beginning of 2010 showed positive growth dynamic of the European car market which has been “ascending” during the last eight months. According to January data car sale volumes in the Old World grew by 12,9% and comprised 1 058 868 cars.
Automotive market of Russia is placed high on the list of targeted territories and ranked as one of the most dynamically developing automotive markets worldwide today in spite of economic crisis. According to AEB data sale volumes in May 2010 in the Russian Federation increased by 31% compared to the same period in the last year.
It is the third edition of the Moscow International Automobile Salon in Crocus Expo IEC. The Salon will traditionally present world and European debuts in the segment of passenger car manufacture, leading automobile brands and novelties from national car industry. The overall exhibit area comprising eight football grounds will host 80 exhibitors whichwill present more than 600 cars at the show. Representatives from 12 countries (Great Britain, Germany, India, Italy, China, Korea, Russia, the USA, Taiwan, France, Czech Republic and Japan) will take part in MIAS 2010.
The overall exhibit space of MIAS 2010 including InterAuto exhibition will exceed 100 000 sq m.
The project first of all aims to familiarize Russian car fans with the market segment proposals as of today and its possible future opportunities.
The list of exhibitors will impress even the most sophisticated car fans. The largest global car manufactures will be accommodated in the third pavilion Crocus Expo IEC: Audi, Bently, BMW, Cadillac, Chery, Citroen, Chevrolet, Сhrysler, FIAT, Ford, Honda, Hyundai, Great Wall, Infiniti, Isuzu, Jaguar, KIA, Land Rover, Lexus, Mercury, Mazda, Mercedes-Benz, MINI, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Opel, Peugeot, Porsche, Renault, Skoda, Ssang Young, Subaru, Suzuki, Toyota, Volkswagen, Volvo, VAZ, GAZ, UAZ and TAGAZ.
World, European and Russian car debuts including magnificent futuristic concept cars are traditionally the highlight both for visitors and professionals. Moscow is waiting for quite a number of world, European and Russian premieres! It is expected that MIAS 2010 exhibitors will unveil to the public 8 world, 7 European and 62 Russian debuts including 20 concept cars. And surprises exhibitors keep up the sleeve are not limited to debuts unveiling!
Moscow Autosalon premiers from AEB members
The Moscow International Automobile Salon 2010 has developed to incorporate more than just an exhibition. A topical and saturated business program for specialists and diverse entertainment events will run during the Autosalon.
Quite a number of business events will be held within the frames of AutoSalon. Exhibitors’ press conferences will become the highlight of the calendar of events. The press conferences will be held mostly during the Press Day August 25, 2010. The 3rd Professional Conference of Russian AutoDealers and conference initiated and organized by Vedomosti newspaper should be mentioned specially.
Children’s AutoCity will be opened for the small visitors of the Moscow Autosalon August 25-26, 2010 (Press Days). The “founders” of the site are Bezopasny Mir (Safe World) International centre and Traffic Safety Department of the Ministry of Home Affairs of the Russian Federation. Victor Kirianov, Chief State Traffic Safety Inspector, will participate in the opening ceremony. AutoCity aims to provide for informative and educational leisure time for parents with kids of various ages. A number of entertaining events will be held at the site: photo galleries, charitable events and contests. Particularly junior drivers will have an opportunity to drive electric vehicles on a specially arranged track simulating a traffic road facilitated with traffic lights, traffic signs, pedestrian crossings and even a traffic police station.
Social move for young drivers YOUR life ROAD organized by Tvoya Doroga (Your Road) magazine will become undoubtedly an important event held within Autosalon. The event aims to advocate for safe and law-abiding driving, driving culture and civil behavior while in traffic.
Press conference initiated and organized by StarLine New Concept of Affordable Safety. Genuine Russian Innovations will be held August 26 within the frames of the Moscow International Automobile Salon. Address to Dmitry Medvedev,President of the Russian Federation, covering the most burning law aspects related to traffic safety, will be made public for the first time.
Gala Awarding Ceremony for the winners of the 4th annual national Sports Car of the Year 2010 awardinitiated for the best sports car officially sold in Russia will be held the same day. The event has been initiated and organized by Avtomobili magazine.
August 27 is declared Design Day of the Moscow Autosalon! A presentation with participation of Mark Lloyd, Chief Designer of Citroën's International Projects, and demonstration of a graphic design performance will be held at 02:00 p.m. at Citroёn stand. Mark Lloyd will share his professional secrets of a car design.
Moreover, Diamond Parking – the exposition of magnificent jewelry products will be displayed within the frames of MIAS for the first time.
The 6th International Automobile ExhibitionInterAuto will be accommodated in the second pavilion and will feature the state-of-art components and the latest technologies related to automotive components, accessories, car care products, chemicals, tuning, aerography, car audio and maintenance and repair equipment and tools.
InterAuto 2010 has also convenient for visitors’ segmentation: car electronic appliances, security and safety systems (hall 5), car care products, oils, lubricants, paints (hall 6), garage and service stations equipment, tires, disks (hall 7), automotive components, spare parts (halls 8).
According to global practice the Moscow International Automobile Salon 2010 will be scheduled as follows:
August 25 and 26 – Press Days. There will be 15 minutes presentations and press conferences at leading global car manufacture stands.
Accredited journalists with credentials will receive badges in Press Centre
(lobby of Pavilion 3 Crocus Expo IEC).
